Have you ever felt like there’s more to life? Are you looking for the purpose of your life? Perhaps you feel so blessed that you want to bless others? How about “you feel you need to make restitution for your past wrongs committed”? Maybe you just need a blessing yourself!


The answers to these and many others can be found by volunteering! We hear it over and over, again and again…. “I came to bless (or help) others but it was me that received the blessing (or help)!” What you’ve heard is true – “it is better to give than to receive” partly because of the paradox in this reality; by giving you receive!

And there is nothing you can do that will change that! He has already compensated for our indiscretions and has sooo much more He wants to give. You see, He is the ultimate extreme Giver!

Next Step STORM exists to provide people an opportunity to serve others that are storm survivors. Storms of weather, storms of life. We build and remodel homes and help out wherever we can in storm ravaged communities. The construction is a platform to share Jesus, not always by preaching but by doing life together, relationally. That’s to the survivors AND the volunteers.

We at Next Step STORM like to promote the local ministries in the communities in which we serve cuz they were here before us and they'll be here when we're gone. We are partnering with Open Door Church in Birmingham, AL and the Iglesia Rios De Agua Viva in Shepherd, TX  both of whom have graciously given us access to their property and facilities. This is how we set up "camp" in multiple areas. We're also privileged to serve with other great partners like Metro Changers and Christian Service Mission. With all this activity and opportunity, you're sure to find a place to fit in! 


You don’t have to be a skilled carpenter to come and serve here; just a willing worker ready to do whatever! Flexibility is key!
