The LORD determines his steps.

I was working in an attic not long ago and put my foot straight through the ceiling.  Not even 5 minutes from being finished and my feet decide they don’t want to listen to my brain! I go downstairs to survey the damage and found a couple things.  First was that I had stepped right next to a seam; this made patching it a lot easier since I only had to cut and clean up one side.  Secondly, out of all the places I could have stepped, there was a drop cloth already waiting beneath and it caught all of the junk and dust that came down!  To be honest, I noticed all this in retrospect; I was pretty annoyed at the time.   That being said, I was very thankful I didn’t fall completely through and end up on the floor with the rest of it.

A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9

It got me thinking though about how even when we step out of God’s plan He’s always protecting us.  Romans 8:28 says: “We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.”  He loves us and guides us even when we have gone off track; however, we still have to deal with the consequences of our actions.  In my case, I had to patch the ceiling and clean up the insulation and drywall that fell.

We are beginning to pull out of Texas as fewer teams are scheduling to come down.  There is still plenty of work to do so don’t wait to grab your crew and visit us in Texas!  It has been a great experience to work with Centro Cristiano Iglesia Rios de Agua Viva (say that 5 times fast!) and I have really enjoyed everyone that has been able to help with rebuilding what was lost in the area.  La iglesia de Jesucristo es mi hermanos y hermanas!

Everything at home is going well.  If you missed the Facebook announcement, we are expecting baby Matthias near the end of September!  We are both excited and looking forward to seeing how God provides throughout this new adventure.

As always, thank you for your prayers and support.  We couldn't do it without you!
